If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't choose to have a baby in January and be on maternity leave during the bleakness of a Minnesota winter. My co-workers told me over and over again how great it would be to have a baby in the winter, to be able to just snuggle in for 10 weeks of leave. Yes, well, lying around inside is NOT my idea of a good time and when there's an active 1.5 year old in the picture, all I want to do is get OUT. Even being able to play out in the yard with Laila while Simone naps indoors would be a great reprieve from the long days we spend inside. It makes every day feel like this huge hurdle to get over, just trying to find things to fill the hours. Oh, winter, please go away! Spring, show us your welcome face!
